Bourbon Barrel Deduction, an 8.5% BA Belgian Dubbel from Taxman Brewing in Bargersville, IN
Bourbon Barrel Deduction pours a dark copper with a beige head. A boozy nose with mild caramel and fruit. The Bourbon definitely takes the flavor lead, but there are still plenty of underlying dark fruit, caramel and subtle chocolate notes to enjoy. A bit of vanilla and toffee peak through just before the big Bourbon finale, which definitely leads you to another sip…or 12! I’ve had a number of Bourbon Barrel Aged Belgians over the years, but this was indeed special! Both a well brewed Dubbel and an expertly barrel aged Ale! Well done Taxman!
I bought mine from Tavour. Taxman Brewing beers are usually available on that app. So even if you’re not in or near Bargersville, IN, know someone out that way or are planning a trip there, you still have a very good option for picking up a can or two of Bourbon Barrel Deduction (when it’s available of course). If you like Belgians, Dubbels or Bourbon Barrel Aged ales, I recommend trying it! In fact, run, don’t walk, to this beer! And don’t sleep on any of the other Taxman Brewing beers either!
